1. Account

The MyAccount feature on Sapling Cots website is a self-service process where customers can look at their orders, manage delivery and contact the company via email to discuss any queries. Payment is also taken through this feature. Only the account holder can make a payment here.

2. Placing an Order

Orders can be placed via the website where instructions are followed to securely checkout, agree to the terms and conditions, pay and organise delivery. On screen instructions will allow the user to complete the required steps to complete an order. We may occasionally be unable to accept orders for various reasons including material shortages, limited stocks or maximum orders already reached at the time of order. 

3. Price and Payment

The price of a cot/ cot bed is shown on the website. Customers can select certain features to alter such as, design, finish and storage options. This will alter the price automatically when customers checkout and then pay for the product. Any queries via cost can be discussed by email with the company so this can be sorted before payment is taken. Promotional prices will also automatically be applied at checkout if they apply to the product selected. Full payment must be made for a cot/ cot bed to be successfully ordered and then made, due to the bespoke small-scale nature of the business. If payment cannot be made the order will not be placed. Payment can be completed one of two ways, each can be selected in the checkout process. Firstly, by Bank Transfer, whereby Sapling Cots will contact the customer once a product has been provisionally ordered with bank transfer details. Once payment has been obtained in full a follow up confirmation email will be generated. Secondly, payment can be made through PayPal, whereby customers follow PayPal's secure checkout process. It is the customers choice which payment method they would like to use.

4. Amending Your Order

If customers would like to amend/ change any aspect of the cot/ cot bed they have up to 48 hours once the order and payment has been completed to email Sapling Cots and discuss alterations. After these 48 hours, the order cannot be amended or changed. If alterations are more expensive than the original payment, this additional charge must be paid within 24 hours. If the alteration is less than the original cost a refund within 3 working days will be organised.

5. Home Delivery & Collection

Sapling Cots can deliver free of charge within a 20-mile radius from Worcester. Outside of this a delivery cost will be applied and it will be a sub-contracted delivery company that will be delivering the cot/ cot bed. All delivery dates are estimates only and not guaranteed. We may occasionally need to amend a delivery or consider a different delivery arrangement, but we will ensure that this is communicated to all customers. Sapling Cots will not be held responsible or provide any compensation for any loss caused due to late or delayed delivery. Furthermore, Sapling Cots will not be held responsible for any damage caused to the cot/ cot bed by sub-contracted delivery companies.

6. Cot / Cot Bed Descriptions

Before ordering the desired cot/ cot bed,  customers must read all aspects of the description of the selected cot/ cot bed carefully  to ensure that they are happy with the product, all its key features (colour, dimensions, material type, finish, specifications, delivery) and that it meets their requirements. However, the product description may incur changes which may not be reflected upon purchase. Any measurements on our descriptions are rounded to the nearest centimetre. Weights of the cots/ cot beds are approximate.

7. Age and Weight Limits

Cots are designed for babies from birth up to 2 years old and have a weight limit of 24kg. Cot bed mode is designed for children from 2 years old to 4 years old and has a weight limit of 40kg. Both cots and cot beds are not engineered to support the weight of an adult. Weight limits must be adhered to even if the child has not yet reached the age limit on a product. It is also the customers responsibility to assess and action when a child is ready to move out of a cot to a toddler bed. This move can precede the 2-year-old age limit if the child is climbing and putting themselves at risk.

8. Effects of Cancellation, Refunds and Returns

 An order can only be cancelled and fully refunded up to 24 hours after the cot/ cot bed has been paid for and ordered. It can still be cancelled up to a week after purchased, however 20% of the purchase price will be retained by Sapling Cots, with the rest refunded back to the customer. After this week, no refund can be given even if the order is cancelled.   

Customer Dissatisfaction

Sapling Cots must be contacted via email if there is customer dissatisfaction and a review on the product will be conducted, whereby the customer will express their reasoning for dissatisfaction to Sapling Cots. The below exclusions apply here. If the exclusions are NOT met Sapling Cots will endeavour to replace part/parts of the cot/ cot bed to meet the customer’s needs if the dissatisfaction is deemed as ‘fixable’, meaning the safety of the cot/ cot bed is not effected, and the dissatisfactory part/parts can easily be replaced. This will be assessed by Sapling Cots. If the cot/ cot bed is deemed as ‘unfixable’, meaning the safety of the cot/ cot bed has been effected, a full refund will be issued or a brand-new cot / cot bed crafted at the customer’s request. Sapling Cots will not be liable for the cost of returning any cot/ cot bed.

Exclusions from Refund or Replacement

-        -  If the cot/ cot bed is misused and not used in line with the instructions.

-         - Any damage incurred once the cot/ cot bed has left the workshop.

-          -Any damage due to exceeding the weight limit.

-          -If the cot/ cot bed is adapted or modified.

-          -If the cot/ cot bed is damaged in delivery.

-          -If the cot/ cot bed is repaired by an unauthorised repair agent.

-          -Improper storage of the cot/ cot bed.

-          -Accidental damage including airline damage.

-          -General wear and tear.

-          -Re-use of any of our cots/ cot beds (includes being sold on).

-          -Natural wearing processes that occur in wood.

-          -Customer dissatisfaction with the cot in terms of disliking the design, this includes colour, size, material, finish.

-          -Incorrect assembly, the use of non-recommended parts, or use of third-party accessories that are not compatible with original design.

-          -Damage caused by non-domestic use, abuse, misuse, neglect or by not being used and cared for in accordance with Sapling Cots instructions.

-          -Damage caused by aftercare not supplied or advised by Sapling Cots.

9. Liability

Sapling Cots are crafted within the UK legal guidelines framework for size and safety. All designs are reviewed to ensure safety and comfort for babies and children.  Sapling Cots will take no responsibility for any accident/illness/allergy/injury/death to any person (s), babies or children when using the cot/ cot bed. 

We do not supply mattress or bedding and so do not take responsibility for misuse of these in our cots/ cot beds. It is the customers responsibility to ensure that any mattress placed in one of our cots/ cot beds complies with the following UK Safety Standard- the top of the mattress to the top of the handrail does not exceed 55cm.

It is a child’s parents or carers responsibility to ensure any cots or cot beds that are re-used or sold on are fully checked over for any damage or safety concerns before they are used again. Sapling Cots will not take responsibility for any accident/illness/allergy/injury/death to any person (s), babies or children when re-using a cot/ cot bed made by us.

11. Social Media

We would love for you to post your cot/ cot bed on our social media platforms; however, it is your responsibility to ensure you are happy with the content you post on our pages. We will post pictures of the different cots/ cot beds we create but permission must be given for any children to be pictured.
